Why Red Light Works? It’s Biology.

Lobsters don’t see red.

In deep water, red light is the first color to disappear — it’s filtered out by the ocean within the first 15-20 feet. Because red light never reaches their world, California spiny lobsters never evolved to see it.

Their eyes only have receptors for blue and green light. To them, your red filter looks like darkness. You can see them clearly, but they can’t see you coming.

White light = alarm. Red light = invisible.
It’s not a trick. It’s just how their eyes work.
